OAKLAND, Calif. -- The third exhibition game is generally when a first-team offense will work a full half and possibly longer.
Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt appears to be following that script against the Raiders tonight, with one glaring exception. He just replaced starting quarterback Matt Leinart with veteran Kurt Warner after Leinart tossed his third interception in five drives. Warner played the final 4:20 of the first half.
In other words, if your fantasy draft is approaching, you might hold off before investing in Leinart, who was barely holding off Warner for the starting job heading into this game. This should be an interesting postgame interview session.
Warner can also be prone to turnovers. The Raiders just sacked him and forced a fumble. The Cardinals recovered, but they are now lining up to punt. Warner has completed 1 of 3 passes for 15 yards.
