Madden 12: Bradford out, Willis advances
By Mike Sando
San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis is the last man standing from the NFC West in the race to grace the "Madden NFL 12" cover.
Willis beat out Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Hines Ward by a 60-40 percentage margin. He'll face Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, who defeated Houston Texans receiver Andre Johnson by a 62-38 margin.
Willis' comfortable victory over Ward comes as a mild surprise, at least to me. Willis should win on the merits -- he's a better player at this point -- but Ward is a skill-position player from a team with multiple Super Bowl appearances in recent seasons.
The St. Louis Rams' Sam Bradford suffered a 76-24 percentage defeat to the Green Bay Packers' Aaron Rodgers, no surprise after Rodgers led his team to a Super Bowl victory.
Rodgers and the Patriots' Danny Woodhead face one another in a bracket also featuring Kansas City's Jamaal Charles against Cleveland's Peyton Hillis.
The Willis-Vick winner faces Drew Brees or Adrian Peterson.
Earlier: Willis defeated Seattle's 12th Man by a 54-46 margin in the first round, when Bradford defeated Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald 57-43.
