Whether lockout would end right away
By Mike Sando
One question came my way repeatedly after I passed along a link to Lester Munson's primer on the NFL court case Wednesday.
If the court sided with players in granting an injunction against the lockout, would the lockout end right away, clearing the way for possible free agency, or would the lockout continue pending an appeal?
I reached out to Munson through ESPN.com editors and can pass along an answer.
Basically, the lockout would end, but the league would immediately ask the 8th Circuit Court to allow the lockout to continue while the appeal was heard.
The 8th Circuit would then rule whether to allow the lockout pending the appeal.
As Munson wrote in his piece, a ruling on an appeal could come early in the summer.
