Waiver claims touch Rams, but not Seahawks

Seattle's Jamar Adams and Michael Bumpus were among those who made it through waivers to sign with the Seahawks' practice squad today. The Rams, despite lacking depth on the offensive line, watched New England claim their recently waived tackle, Mark LeVoir.

The Seahawks liked their depth more than the rest of the league. The league liked the Rams' shaky depth better than expected. That's one way to read the waiver claims submitted following the cutdown to 53-man rosters. But there is more to the story.

The Seahawks wound up keeping more of their favored players after placing Jordan Babineaux and Rocky Bernard on the reserve/suspended list. And the Patriots' interest in LeVoir reflects their own desperation at the tackle position as much as anything else.

Arizona was among a long list of teams to submit claims for former Saints interior offensive lineman Andy Alleman, but the Dolphins prevailed. The 49ers couldn't resist former Bengals linebacker Ahmad Brooks, claiming him and releasing Dontarrious Thomas.
