Sam Bradford's donation keeps bar high
By Mike Sando
The recent contract renegotiation Sam Bradford completed with the St. Louis Rams did not change his status with team.
It did advance $6 million to Bradford right away, money he would have received later in the year.
Looks like Bradford found a meaningful way to put some of the cash to use. His $500,000 donation to University of Oklahoma athletics does more than establish a training table in his name. The donation also sets an example for other former Oklahoma students with the wealth to consider contributions on that level.
The Minnesota Vikings' Adrian Peterson donated $1 million to the Sooners this year.
The NFC West doesn't have other high-profile active players with ties to Oklahoma. Arizona used a third-round choice for cornerback Jamell Fleming this year.
