Contract unrest in NFC West

KIRKLAND, Wash. -- The Rams' agreement with second-round receiver Donnie Avery leaves NFC West teams without any unsigned draft choices. Avery has a chance to challenge for the No. 3 receiving job. Reche Caldwell might be the favorite.

Agreements involving Avery and Seattle second-round tight end John Carlson haven't put an end to contract-related squabbles in the division. Far from it.

Jackson has the most leverage because he's a Pro Bowl-caliber talent with age on his side, no contract past 2008 and an employer that desperately needs his services.
