You called it: Fearless predictions (Week 1)
By Mike Sando
Our weekly NFC West predictions contest is back for 2012 with a twist.
In addition to picking scores for division games -- more on the "You called it" contest below -- we've also created an NFC West blog group for the "Pigskin Picks" competition on ESPN.com. We'll be picking outcomes independent of point spreads. Straight up, as they say.
You can find our group here. I'll acknowledge outstanding performances by those of you prescient and/or lucky enough to do well in a given week.
This will let us compete outside the division.
Thanks to ESPN's Andrew Feldman for getting this set up.
You called it
Those unfamiliar with "You called it" can check out previous incarnations. It's pretty simple. Dive into the comments section and watch the regulars at work. They'll show the way.
We're looking for simple score predictions for this week's games involving NFC West teams.
"49ers 85, Packers 0" would be appropriate if you thought the 49ers would win by an 85-0 margin. You'll have until kickoff to leave your predictions. I'll pick them up at that time. That prevents anyone from editing their predictions once a game is underway.
I'll make my predictions separately each Friday (earlier if the NFC West has a game Thursday).
A look at the games this week:
- St. Louis Rams at Detroit Lions
- San Francisco 49ers at Green Bay Packers.
- Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals
The chart below shows winners from last season. Best of luck to all.
