You called it: Fearless predictions (Week 11)
By Mike Sando
The Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers combined for a 24-24 tie on Oct. 3, 1954.
The franchises did it again Sunday, this time with the Rams representing St. Louis.
The outcome marked the seventh time in Rams history the team finished a game with a 24-24 tie. It was the fourth time in 49ers history a game ended with that score.
Pro Football Reference has the full list of 24-24 games.
The overtime era has all but eliminated tie scores. None of us could have seen this one coming. We did have several people come close to predicting the Seattle Seahawks' 28-7 victory over the New York Jets in the other game for which we solicited predictions a week ago. There were no new additions to our Wall of Fame, however.
Seattle gets Week 11 off. The other NFC West teams are playing. Those using the comments section of this item to predict scores and outcomes correctly will join our other winners on the Wall of Fame.
Best of luck. I'll have my "best guesses" item Friday, as usual.
