Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson entered this season with more personal-foul penalties (17) since 2001, his first season, than any player in the league.
The hit he put on Trent Edwards in Week 5 did not add to the total, but the league dipped into his wallet with a $25,000 fine. This marks Wilson's third fine since the start of last season.
The league levied a $10,000 fine for Wilson's horse-collar tackle on the Lions' Kevin Jones last season. Wilson incurred no fine for the hit he put on Ravens tight end Todd Heap in Week 3 last season. Officials penalized Wilson for unnecessary roughness, but a review of the play brought no additional punishment.
I can't recall the other fine for Wilson since the start of 2007. Perhaps you can help me out.
Update: Wilson said he was fined $12,500 for the hit on Heap. Hmmmm.
