49ers: Ryan next after Wilson, Brady, Brees
By Mike Sando
The San Francisco 49ers face one of the NFL's top quarterbacks, Matt Ryan, on the road in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.
They know what they are getting into.
The 49ers have faced Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Drew Brees over their past seven games, counting postseason. They played Wilson, Brady and Brees on the road. Defensive end Justin Smith, arguably the 49ers' most important defensive player, did not play against Wilson, and missed nearly all the second half against Brady.
Those are some things to keep in mind when checking out the chart, which shows how those top quarterbacks fared against the 49ers.
Wilson and the Seahawks jumped to a big lead early, feasting on a rough start by the 49ers' offense. Brady's second-half stat line against the 49ers featured 367 yards passing with one touchdown, one pick and an 85.3 Total QBR score.
The 49ers' defense provided two interceptions for touchdowns against Brees, one by Ahmad Brooks and the other by Donte Whitner.
