Surging expectations for the Seattle Seahawks this offseason seem to have shown up in Week 1 preseason TV ratings.

The 21.0 rating and 40 share for the Seattle market represented increases from a 12 rating and 25 share for Seattle's 2012 preseason opener, a Saturday night home game against Tennessee.
Rating represents the percentage of homes in a market. Share represents the percentage of TVs in use during a program.
The first chart shows where Seattle's Week 1 preseason ratings ranked compared to those for the other NFC West teams. The Arizona Cardinals (at Green Bay) and St. Louis Rams (at Cleveland) were on the road, as were the Seahawks. The San Francisco 49ers were at home against the Denver Broncos.
I'll be interested in seeing if the numbers hold when Seattle plays at home against Denver on Saturday night.
