One of my Facebook friends, Nathaniel, recently asked to see a Total QBR breakdown for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb by half against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 13.

Here goes: 7.8 in the first half, 69.8 in the second half, 96.7 in overtime, 82.2 after halftime.

For more on Kolb and what his second-half performance means -- against Dallas and this season in general -- cue the NFC 411 video.

I'm second in the order, right after Kevin Seifert.

San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman makes an appearance in the latest "NFL32OT" for those interested in hearing from arguably the most impressive new starter in the NFC West.

Bowman: "We didn't want to use the new coaching staff as an excuse (to play poorly this season)."

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- There's nothing like Indian food to make sure you're really, really warmed up on what is already a 90-degree morning here at University of Phoenix Stadium.

I kid. The food, highlighted by freshly made chicken korma, was sensational -- and not at all too spicy.

A big thanks goes out to Anand Patel, Jon Parks, Chuck Fries, Minesh Patel and Amit Patel for rolling out the (Cardinal) red carpet for their visitor from the NFC West blog.

Anand and I connected through the blog via Facebook and got together in the West Lot at about 9 a.m. PT this morning. I had also hoped to catch up with Jeff LUndberg, Jim Miller and Jeff Starr this week, but time worked against us. I'm in the pressbox watching the early NFC West games.

Hope you enjoy the video.

Video: Rams, Eagles and the big play

ESPN's Sal Paolantonio says the Philadelphia Eagles spent the week readying "explosive" plays for their Week 1 game against the St. Louis Rams in the Edward Jones Dome.

As noted Friday: The Rams allowed only five pass plays of 40-plus yards last season, one off the NFL low and 13 fewer than Houston's league-worst mark. The 2010 Eagles completed 15 pass plays covering at least 40 yards, most in the league. Something figures to give here.

The Seattle Seahawks ranked first among NFC West teams in ESPN's ultimate franchise rankings, but the St. Louis Rams were gaining.

Neither ranked among the NFL leaders for a couple reasons that transcended most categories under consideration.

Cue the video.

ESPN's Mike Tirico, Trent Dilfer, Chris Mortensen and Mel Kiper Jr. turned their attention to the Arizona Cardinals in their latest draft preview.

Among the subjects they discussed:
  • The impact Kurt Warner's retirement had in exposing weaknesses throughout the roster;
  • Whether Blaine Gabbert or Von Miller will be available when Arizona picks fifth overall, under the assumption the Cardinals would consider a quarterback that early (and I think it's doubtful this year);
  • Whether Arizona would be wise to move up from the fifth spot, an idea Dilfer discourages.

At one point, Mortensen pointed to the Cardinals' strong turnout for Gabbert's workout in Missouri as evidence Arizona might want to select him. An important side note: Cardinals brass stopped off at Gabbert's workout on their return flight from the nearby NFL owners meeting, and team president Michael Bidwill was piloting their plane. That was the reason the team's ownership attended that workout, in my view.

The latest NFC West Huddle video from ESPN's John Clayton offers thoughts on every team in the division.

Clayton suspects the San Francisco 49ers fired Mike Singletary before the season was finished to aid a potential pursuit of Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh. Clayton expects an "interesting" quarterback search in Arizona, with the Cardinals possibly making a play for Kevin Kolb because the team doesn't want to develop a rookie.

Sure, St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford wasn't throwing with his usual accuracy. Yes, the Rams dropped a couple of should-have-been interceptions.

In watching the Rams' 18-17 defeat at Tampa Bay in Week 7, however, I noticed another more pronounced problem for St. Louis.

Cue the video.

ESPNews' Will Selva and I discussed the following issues on the regular Blogger's Blitz segment Wednesday:
  • How the 49ers might use Michael Crabtree
  • Rush Limbaugh's failed attempt to buy a stake in the Rams
  • How close the Cardinals are to hitting stride
  • What Matt Hasselbeck means to the Seahawks
  • Owen Schmitt's pregame bloodletting and how teammates responded

These video segments generally feature the NFC West on Wednesdays.
