A weekly examination of the Browns' ESPN.com Power Ranking:
Preseason: 28 | Last Week: 18 | ESPN.com Power Ranking since 2002
College poll-itis has infected the ESPN Power Rankings. The Browns did not play this past weekend, yet they dropped a spot, from 18 to 19.
So by not winning evidently their ranking is affected, even though they also did not lose. Perhaps the Browns simply did not “look good” in their bye.
The team ahead of the Browns in the poll? Baltimore, which just happens to be the team the Browns beat the last time they played.
The Browns have been buoyed by the win over Baltimore. It’s buttressed their hopes, buffeted their confidence, bolstered their belief. Yet they drop a spot in the Power Rankings and are behind the very team they just defeated.
Who exactly is in charge here?
There oughta be an investigation.
Or the SEC (the Southeastern Conference, of course).
Or the CIA.
Cleveland will not rest until it is explained.
