Cortland Finnegan doubtful vs. Bears

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- It appeared as one of the stranger designations on the St. Louis Rams' injury report this week, but it appears the eye injury that has kept cornerback Cortland Finnegan out of practice this week will be enough to keep him from playing on Sunday.

Finnegan is officially listed as doubtful on Friday's injury report with an eye injury. The extent of the injury or what, exactly, it is remains unknown, but it seems unlikely he'll be able to play against the Chicago Bears.

Trumaine Johnson, who has been starting in place of Finnegan for most of the past six games anyway, will almost certainly handle the starting duties opposite Janoris Jenkins. Finnegan missed three games this season with a leg injury.

When Finnegan missed time during that sequence, the Rams turned to safety Rodney McLeod as the third cornerback, with an extra safety -- usually Matt Giordano -- entering the game. It seems likely they would go that way again, though Giordano (thigh) and fellow safety Darian Stewart (foot) were limited in practice this week. Giordano and Stewart are listed as probable.

Here's the full injury report for Friday:

Out: G Harvey Dahl (knee), QB Brady Quinn (hip/back)

Doubtful: Finnegan

Probable: RB Chase Reynolds (knee), Stewart, Giordano

Of note for the Bears, defensive tackles Stephen Paea (toe) and Jay Ratliff (groin) are listed as out.
