Briefly: Manning had arguably his best day of downfield passing in the past eight seasons, completing 80 percent (8-for-10) of passes that traveled at least 15 yards downfield. Those throws accounted for 268 of his 405 total yards, along with three of his five touchdown passes. (The two incompletions were both intercepted.) Manning had completed only five such passes in his three previous games combined. He now has more passing yards through 12 games (4,125) than any quarterback in NFL history.

Briefly: Brady struggled against the Houston Texans' blitz in the first half Sunday, completing just 2 of 7 passes on eight dropbacks against it. The Texans responded by increasing their blitz frequency from 21 percent to 39 percent in the second half, but Brady adjusted and completed 7 of 9 passes against it for 137 yards and a touchdown. The big adjustment: He threw shorter against the blitz in the second half. His average pass against the blitz traveled 15.0 yards past the line of scrimmage in the first half and 8.5 yards in the second.

Briefly: Newton's 56-yard run against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was his longest scramble on a designed passing play. In the Panthers' eight-game winning streak, Newton is completing 64 percent of his passes with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Briefly: Flacco responded well to the Pittsburgh Steelers' decision to blitz more frequently in the second half Thursday night. He faced at least five pass-rushers on 42 percent of his second-half dropbacks, but overall he completed 7 of 10 throws against it -- his most efficient game against the blitz this season.

Briefly: Roethlisberger has at least one touchdown pass in 25 consecutive games, the second-longest active streak in the NFL.

Briefly: The St. Louis Rams tried to contain Kaepernick with their standard rush, but he celebrated the return of receiver Michael Crabtree by completing 15 of 20 passes against it for 233 yards and a touchdown. The Rams' standard pass rush had limited Kaepernick to 96 passing yards in the teams' first matchup.

Briefly: McGloin played his role in the Oakland Raiders' second-half collapse against the Dallas Cowboys, missing on eight of his 15 attempts and throwing an interception in the end zone.

Briefly: Stafford has thrown six interceptions in his past two games after limiting himself to eight in his first 10. But Thursday, he made two big-time throws -- 36 yards to Kris Durham and 20 for a touchdown to Kevin Ogletree -- to seal a big division victory.

Briefly: Keenum missed on 15 of 30 passes, giving him his fifth consecutive game with a completion percentage under 60 percent. His average pass traveled 10.97 yards in the air, the fourth-highest of Week 13, and a figure that illustrates his downfield mentality.

Briefly: Tannehill faced a blitz on only 15.2 percent of his dropbacks Sunday, as the New York Jets felt confident they could get to him with their standard rush. He took one sack in those situations and completed 23 of 36 passes for 257 yards and a touchdown against it.

Briefly: Foles' three touchdown passes to tight ends Sunday doubled his output to that position this season. According to Elias Sports Bureau, Eagles tight ends hadn't caught three touchdowns in a game since 1989.

Briefly: Henne nitpicked the Cleveland Browns to defeat Sunday. He averaged 4.9 yards per attempt, the lowest among any qualified quarterback in Week 13.

Briefly: All three of Fitzpatrick's interceptions came on passes that traveled more than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage. Before Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts had allowed twice as many touchdowns (10) as they had interceptions (five) on such throws.

He was sacked on seven of 28 dropbacks, the highest percentage against a Packers quarterback since at least 2006. Four of those sacks came against the Lions' standard four-man rush, and in total, nine of his 21 dropbacks against it were disrupted.
