A weekly examination of the Cowboys’ ESPN.com Power Ranking
Preseason: 20 | Last week: 12 | ESPN.com Power Ranking since 2002
The Cowboys have inched closer to the top 10 in the ESPN.com Power Rankings, moving up a spot to No. 11 with their Thanksgiving Day win against the Oakland Raiders.
The Cowboys lead the NFC East by virtue of their Oct. 20 win at the Philadelphia Eagles, but trail the Eagles by a spot in the Power Rankings. Their Dec. 29 rematch at AT&T Stadium looms as a third straight win-or-go-home finale.
Mike Sando and Kevin Seifert are the biggest believers in the Cowboys, pushing them up to No. 9, but John Clayton and Jamison Hensley are still skeptical, keeping them at No. 13.
A win on ESPN’s "Monday Night Football" against the Chicago Bears would help the Cowboys' resume and keep the pressure on the Eagles to continue to win as well. December has not been kind to the Cowboys, but they were able to rip off three straight wins last year before dropping their last two to finish 8-8.
