GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Running back Eddie Lacy strolled through the Green Bay Packers' locker room on Thursday wearing a walking boot on his right foot.

The standout rookie has not practiced since he sprained his ankle on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Despite both of those factors, the Packers think Lacy has a good chance to play in this Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys.

"I feel good about Eddie Lacy, just as far as the feedback from the medical staff," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Thursday. "He'll be evaluated in the morning, and then we'll see what the plan is for Eddie as far as practice."

Lacy was injured in the second quarter against the Falcons. He returned midway through the third quarter after getting his ankle re-taped. The Packers have not classified the type of sprain Lacy sustained, but if they think he can play this week, then it's not likely to be the more serious high ankle sprain.

"Based on Eddie's specific injury, the training staff feels confident he'll be ready to go," McCarthy said. "He finished, played the second half of the Atlanta game."

The Packers' injury report was unchanged from Wednesday.
