Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley will be placed on season-ending injured reserve this week after breaking his right ankle, a team source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Coach Jim Zorn said Monday that Cooley will need at least six to week eight weeks to recover. The source told Schefter the two-time Pro Bowl player will undergo surgery this week.
Update: Cooley is hopeful he can be back in four weeks.
