GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The weight of Jermichael Finley has yo-yoed during the tight end's career with the Green Bay Packers.

Every time it has been by design.

At the combine before he was drafted in 2008, the 6-foot-5 Finley weighed in at 243 pounds.

Although he has been listed in the Packers' media guide at 247 pounds for each of his six NFL seasons, the reality is that he’s changed his body several times over.

In 2010, Finley said his weight was down to 235 pounds because he wanted to be used more like a receiver rather than a tight end. He played light in 2011 before deciding to get bigger again. Last summer in training camp, Finley said he was 10 pounds heavier than he was in 2012 and was probably closer to the 247 pounds the Packers list him at.

Now it appears he’s intent on getting even bigger.

On Monday, Finley posted his latest numbers on Twitter.

Based on a Tweet posted over the weekend that included a picture of him working out, Finley appears to be in good shape.

It’s unclear if Finley’s decision to bulk up is related to his neck injury. He had fusion surgery on Nov. 14 and missed the rest of the season. He’s scheduled to be a free agent next month, but his agent, Blake Baratz, is expected to meet with the Packers late this week or early next week at the combine in Indianapolis.

While Baratz said he expects Finley’s surgeon, Dr. Joseph Maroon, to clear him soon, it remains unclear whether the Packers will do the same.
