No. 25: Packers 48, Redskins 47 | Oct. 17, 1983
The loyalty of the Green Bay Packers' fan base was tested in the years of losing football after Vince Lombardi departed in 1968.
But on this Monday night in October 1983, Lynn Dickey and the Packers gave the Lambeau Field faithful plenty to cheer about. In what remains the highest-scoring game in "Monday Night Football" history, a mediocre Green Bay team knocked off a Washington Redskins squad that was well on its way to its second straight Super Bowl appearance.
There were five lead changes in the fourth quarter alone, capped off by Jan Stenerud's 20-yard field goal with 54 seconds left that put the Packers up for good.
Washington threatened on the last drive, but Mark Moseley missed a 39-yard field goal with 3 seconds left.
The teams finished with a combined 1,025 total yards -- 771 of which was through the air, thanks mostly to the Packers' Lynn Dickey (pictured) and the Redskins' Joe Thiesmann.
