MIAMI -- After catching up with Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford here in the media center, I can confirm that no beautiful women were chasing after him to ruffle his hair. At least not at that moment. He apparently has had plenty of experience with that lately.

Stafford recently returned from Los Angeles after filming a series of advertisements for Axe hair products, including a promotion you can check out here through Facebook. “That was a really good time,” he said -- and I think you’ll agree if you watch the video.

Stafford said he is “pretty close” to being recovered from the left shoulder injury that kept him out of the final four games of the season. When the Lions’ offseason program begins, Stafford said his top priority will be to analyze his 20 interceptions and 24 sacks to look for common denominators.

“I want to get back and look at all the mistakes, the interceptions and the sacks,” Stafford said. “And see if I can figure out what happened. Obviously, I remember most of them, but some of them will be good to look back at again. What time was it in the game? What were the routes? That kind of stuff.”

We haven’t discussed it in a while, so it’s worth noting Stafford played in only 10 games because of injuries. Projected over a full 16-game season, he was on pace for a 32-interception season.
