All right, time for another break from covering the Saints in London. Here's a look at what's going on in the rest of the division.

BUCCANEERS

  • Warrick Dunn didn't practice Wednesday. He does have a pinched nerve in his neck, but it's also common for Dunn to get Wednesdays off. Wide receiver Joey Galloway was at practice and could make his return Sunday against the Cowboys.
  • Running back Cadillac Williams practiced with the Bucs for the first time in more than a year. The Bucs have 21 days to decide if they want to activate Williams or put him on the injured reserve list.
  • The Bucs signed linebacker Kyle Shotwell and receiver Paris Warren to the practice squad. Fullback Ryan Powdrell was released from the practice squad.

PANTHERS

  • Center Ryan Kalil and right tackle Jeff Otah, who each have missed the last two games with injuries, sat out Wednesday's practice. With a bye coming up after Sunday's game with Arizona, the Panthers may hold out Kalil and Otah again to get them fully healthy. Wide receiver D.J. Hackett returned to practice on a limited basis.
  • Defensive end Julius Peppers said part of the reason he didn't step forward as a vocal leader last year was because he deferred to veteran defensive end Mike Rucker, who retired in the spring. In a way, that's commendable on Peppers' part. But, then again, Rucker wasn't the kind of guy who would have been offended by Peppers stepping forward.

FALCONS

  • Atlanta was accused by some critics of making a reach when it traded back into the first round for offensive tackle Sam Baker. So far, the Falcons are looking like they made the right call. Baker's been more than solid at left tackle. If he and rookie quarterback Matt Ryan continue developing the way they are, the Falcons could end up having one of the best first rounds in NFL history.
