Lowell Cohn of the Cohn Zone makes available a lengthy transcript from his wide-ranging interview with 49ers owner Jed York. Cohn thinks the 49ers need to hire someone above general manager Scot McCloughan. York disagrees, but says the organization could revisit the idea in the offseason depending on available candidates. York strongly defends McCloughan.

Bill Coats of Around the Horns defends Rams running back Steven Jackson in the face of unspecified criticisms about toughness and selfishness. It's natural to monitor how players fight through injuries after signing lucrative contracts, but we have no evidence suggesting Jackson is giving less than 100 percent. He played against the Cardinals even though he obviously wasn't close to full strength.

VanRam of Turf Show Times hands out midseason awards for the Rams. Oshiomogho Atogwe edges out Pisa Tinoisamoa for defensive MVP.

Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic says injury continues to limit Cardinals left tackle Mike Gandy. Levi Brown could move from right tackle in place of Gandy, with Elton Brown taking over at right tackle. No mention of left guard Reggie Wells possibly moving to left tackle.

Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee says the 49ers will be without Arnaz Battle and Barry Sims on Monday night. Backup safety Dashon Goldson is also out.
