NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Titans' defense finally made an appearance, and maybe just in time.

In position to go down at least 10-0, Jevon Kearse made a play. As Brett Favre read the end and pitched a pass to Thomas Jones, Kearse turned and got to Jones, stripping him. Kevin Vickerson recovered the fumble.

Kearse showed he can still use his quickness to make plays -- he closed on Favre to make him make the throw, then turned and made it to Jones to make a play.

But the offense couldn't take advantage as back-to-back drops by Justin McCareins and Bo Scaife deflated the Titans' chances.

That's five drops of Kerry Collins passes. He's going to need a lot more help than that if the Titans are to establish any offensive rhythm and stay undefeated.

The offense is about to get it back -- Cortland Finnegan just made a pretty pick.
