At the end of his "I'm back" news conference Wednesday afternoon, Brett Favre gave a shoutout to Pro Football Hall of Famer who apparently wants to live vicariously through him.

Buffalo Bills legend Jim Kelly urged Favre to return to the Minnesota Vikings, noting the failure to win a Super Bowl in four consecutive appearances.

"I hear some young guys say 'I want to make it to the Pro Bowl.' I've done that," Favre said. "I can't say I never dreamed of being an MVP, but I won three. So can I ask for anything more? I've been fortunate to be on a winning Super Bowl team.

"I talk to Jim Kelly all the time. Jim's a good friend of mine. He's like, 'Hey, bro, I went to four. Never won. If you can still do it, do it. And do it for me.'

"[Dan] Marino, as great as he was, never got it. I've got all the good records. I've got all the bad records. Wins, starts ... I did it on a new team, get to the championship game and made -- I'd like to think -- a positive impact on these guys. There's nothing left to prove. I'm going to have fun.

"I'm going to promise you this, not that I ever set out as a goal to play 20 years, but 20 years and I'm done. This is the last year on my contract. I'm sure a lot of people are, like, 'Yes!' "
