KANSAS CITY –- Don’t worry, Chiefs fans, Dexter McCluster is fine.
Two days after he was listed as doubtful on the injury report with an unspecified illness, McCluster entered the Kansas City Chiefs record books with a 94-yard punt return late in the second quarter to give the Chiefs a 21-7 lead over San Diego. It was the longest return in team history.
Along with fellow second-round pick, Javier Arenas, Kansas City has two dynamic young return men. McCluster benefitted from two terrific blocks and showed startling open-field speed as Kansas City is stunning San Diego.
