Wrap-up: Saints 34, Bengals 30

A quick review of New Orleans’ 34-30 victory against Cincinnati.

What it means: The Saints are 9-3 and still very much in the NFC South race. I’m sure they’ll be watching the Falcons and Buccaneers on their flight home and rooting hard for Tampa Bay.

Hero: Drew Brees. We’ve seen this many times before. The Saints fell behind late. Brees took the team downfield and threw a game-winning touchdown pass in the final minute.

Stroke of luck: When Sean Payton kept his offense on the field on a fourth-and-2 late in the game, the world knew he was trying to draw Cincinnati offside. Well, make that the world, except for the Bengals. Of course, the team known as “the Bungles’’ jumped.

What’s next: The Saints host the St. Louis Rams next Sunday. On paper, that should be a win. But it could be the last easy game for the Saints. After the Rams, they’ve got the Ravens, Falcons and Buccaneers.
