Here are the most interesting stories Thursday in the AFC North:
- Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Robert Geathers tells Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com he had microfracture knee surgery in January.
Morning take: Geathers seems optimistic about a June return. But this may be another thing to monitor for Cincinnati this summer, along with quarterback Carson Palmer's progress and receiver Chad Ocho Cinco's status.
- ESPN.com senior writer John Clayton writes the Arizona Cardinals are willing to entertain trade offers for star receiver Anquan Boldin.
- Steve Doerschuk of the Canton Repository takes the first swipe at creating the Cleveland Browns' depth chart for next season.
- Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer says the Browns caught a break with the 2009 schedule.
Morning take: While Browns have an easier strength of schedule this year (No. 25 in the NFL), those first three games against the Minnesota Vikings at home, then at the Denver Broncos and at the Baltimore Ravens are rugged. A potential 0-3 start would be dreadful for new coach Eric Mangini.
