The Super Bowl, which was held in Tampa this year, will be back in an NFC South city in 2013. New Orleans will host Super Bowl XLVII and that's long overdue.
New Orleans is the best of all Super Bowl venues when it comes to logistics, in my opinion, and I wouldn't mind a bit if the game was played there every year. Virtually everything (stadium, hotels, restaurants) is within walking distance, the weather is usually decent and New Orleans knows how to throw a party.
But the city had been out of the Super Bowl loop since 2002. That was almost entirely because the Saints and the state of Louisiana were having trouble working out a long-term lease agreement on the Superdome.
That got worked out a few weeks ago and NFL owners didn't waste any time in putting the game back in New Orleans, where it belongs -- at least every few years.
