The Cardinals are going to need him against Brandon Lloyd and the New England Patriots' other receivers Sunday. It's impossible to know if Peterson's groin injury will sideline him without knowing the severity of the injury. I wouldn't bet against him based on the standard Peterson set last season.
"You can't keep him off the field," coach Ken Whisenhunt said of Peterson during training camp. "The biggest evidence of that was last year in Cincinnati when we lost the game and he hurt his Achilles. The thought was, 'Oh, be careful.' He came out and played the next week against Seattle. It was that important to him."
Peterson is coming off a strong performance at cornerback against Seattle. He also represents a threat as a punt returner after scoring four touchdowns on returns as a rookie last season. New England allowed zero returns on four punts during a 34-13 victory at Tennessee last season.
