There was hope that Steelers linebacker James Harrison would return after the Steelers' bye and play against the Eagles on Oct. 7. But the latest news suggests that won't be happening.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting Harrison left the Steelers training facility this morning in street clothes and did not practice. A source told the paper that Harrison's knee is bothering him again.
Harrison, who had arthroscopic knee surgery on Aug. 15, practiced for the first time Tuesday. Based on the report, Harrison's knee didn't respond well to the workout.
The players are now off for the next four days for their bye and return on Monday. Without Harrison, the Steelers have recorded five sacks in three games. Only six teams have fewer sacks.
