According to The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Roethlisberger said he's fine and he's expected to play Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Roethlisberger likely will appear on the Steelers' injury report Thursday. The right ankle is the one he badly sprained last season.
While Roethlisberger is still expected to play, an injury that affects his mobility will be a factor Sunday night. The Bengals rank second in the NFL in sacks with 20 and they generate a lot of pressure with their front four. Last season, Cincinnati sacked Roethlisberger seven times in two losses to the Steelers.
Protecting Roethlisberger on Sunday is a question mark for the Steelers. Pittsburgh will already be without two starters on the offensive line (right tackle Marcus Gilbert and right guard David DeCastro) and Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey (knee) didn't practice Wednesday.
