NFC North Week 7 Quarterback Report: 2.0

Let's circle back for Part II of our Week 7 Quarterback Report in the wake of Monday night's action at Soldier Field. You can find Part I here.

Jay Cutler

Passer rating: 76.0

QBR: 53.1

Action plays: 43

Comment: The Bears changed their playcalling noticeably after Cutler's second-quarter rib injury, and he threw for only 77 yards thereafter. Of that total, 23 came on a bubble screen to receiver Devin Hester. But what Cutler did Monday night can't be recorded on a stat sheet. He took the Detroit Lions' best punch and answered the bell for the next round. Moving forward, it will be worth noting whether the Bears will have to pull back their downfield passing while Cutler's ribs heal.

Matthew Stafford

Passer rating: 74.6

QBR: 41.8

Action plays: 54

Comment: You can comb the stat sheet all you want, but in the end, the best way to describe Stafford this season is "off." Monday night, the Bears made him move in the pocket far more often than he's used to, sacking him three times and forcing another three scrambles. Stafford has now been intercepted seven times and sacked 12 times in five career starts against the Bears.
