EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill said he hyperextended his left knee and suffered a bruised quad against the New York Jets but feels good about his chances of playing next week against the Indianapolis Colts.
Moore threw for 131 yards and a touchdown in relief.
“We were up big and Matt was doing a good job,” Tannehill said in the locker room after the game. "I just couldn’t get it all the way warmed up all the way. I could bend it. But I didn’t want to hurt our team basically. I couldn’t gone in if it were an emergency situation."
Tannehill said he is schedule for an MRI on his knee and quad Monday morning. But he didn't have a concerned look on his face. Tannehill had a slight limp Sunday night but doesn't anticipate anything major.
“I’m optimistic about it,” Tannehill said. “I’m optimistic about getting ready to go for next week. I’m just taking it one day at a time and doing everything I can to get healthy again.”
