Many people have been asking, due to the extent of the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy and the lingering power outages across New York and New Jersey, whether Sunday's game between the New York Giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers at MetLife Stadium would go on as scheduled or whether it might be moved to Monday night. Here's the response I got from the NFL when I asked that question:
"On the game at MetLife, the stadium apparently is fine. We are going to prepare to play and will stay in close touch with public authorities."
So there you have it. As of now, expect the Giants-Steelers game to kick off as scheduled at 4:25 pm ET on Sunday. But the league is aware of the unusual circumstances, and should there be any reason to alter the schedule, they have the ability to stay flexible. Recent years have seen Sunday games postponed until Monday night (and, in one memorable Philadelphia case, to Tuesday night) due to weather.
