Mendenhall is inactive for the Steelers

BALTIMORE -- Rashard Mendenhall went from the starting running back last week to being inactive today against the Ravens.

That's what happens when Mendenhall fumbles on two of his four carries against the Browns. Mendenhall, who has dealt with injuries this season, wasn't listed on the injury report this week. This was a coaching decision.

The Steelers named Jonathan Dwyer as the starter earlier this week. With Mendenhall inactive, Isaac Redman is the Steelers' primary backup. Mendenhall is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

In other news, rookie seventh-round pick Kelvin Beachum is scheduled to start at right tackle for Mike Adams, who is out with an ankle injury. Jason Worilds is starting for LaMarr Woodley, who is sidelined with an ankle injury.

Here are the other inactives for the Steelers: QB Ben Roethlisberger, QB Byron Leftwich, CB DeMarcus Van Dyke and WR Jerricho Cotchery.
