Biggest surprise: The Browns were tired of waiting on third-year receiver Travis Wilson to come around. But just when the light was starting to come on this summer (he had six catches Thursday), Cleveland let him go. Wilson, a former third-round draft pick, likely will get a look elsewhere soon.
No-brainers: The fact that four defensive backs were cut was no surprise with the way Cleveland's secondary played in the preseason. Travis Key, A.J. Davis, Jereme Perry and Brandon Mitchell all had a chance to make an impression but failed.
What's next: Speaking of which, the Browns are looking to address their cornerback position. Veteran Ty Law is one consideration as a free agent. Cleveland also will monitor cuts this weekend to see if there are more affordable options in the secondary.
