NFC South at halftime

The New Orleans Saints already have set a new NFL record for yards allowed in a season, but they lead the Carolina Panthers, 17-13, at halftime.

That’s largely due to Jonathan Vilma's interception return for a touchdown on a Cam Newton pass in the second quarter.

In the other NFC South game, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a 13-3 halftime lead on the Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta coach Mike Smith has played his starters so far and cornerback Dunta Robinson left the game with a head injury.

The Falcons haven't looked sharp at all and I suspect Smith may pull his starters sometime soon.

I’ll be back with wrap-ups on both games soon after they end.
