Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan missed out on a trip to the Super Bowl when the Falcons lost the NFC Championship Game to San Francisco on Sunday. Now, it turns out Ryan won’t even get a consolation prize.
Ryan, who initially was selected to the Pro Bowl, won’t be going to Hawaii due to a left shoulder (non-throwing side) injury.
Ryan suffered the injury in the final minutes of Sunday’s loss to San Francisco, but never left the game. Coach Mike Smith said Ryan’s recovery time is expected to be minimal and the quarterback should be able to take part in the full offseason program.
