Former San Diego defensive tackle Aubrayo Franklin signed with the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday.

Franklin played in 12 games for the Chargers last season and filled a nice role on the defensive line. The Chargers liked Franklin but they have some young defensive linemen such as Kendall Reyes and Cam Thomas on the line, so Franklin was expendable.

In other AFC West news:

I still wouldn’t be surprised if Oakland considers signing Denver free-agent cornerback Tracy Porter. He played for Oakland coach Dennis Allen in New Orleans. There are some decent cornerbacks available and the Raiders have a need at the position.

The Chiefs will reportedly visit with Oregon pass-rusher Dion Jordan. The Chiefs will visit with several top prospects.

As expected, Kansas City coach Andy Reid said Dunta Robinson will remain a cornerback and not be moved to cornerback. Expect Robinson to play nickel cornerback (where he excels) and fellow newly signed cornerback Sean Smith being a starter along with incumbent Brandon Flowers.

Former Kansas City offensive coordinator Brian Daboll is rejoining the coaching staff in New England. Daboll was fired after one season with the Chiefs.
