The New York Jets finally addressed their woeful offense -- and they found their quarterback of the future in the process.
New York drafted West Virginia Geno Smith with the No. 39 overall pick in the draft's second round Friday. Smith will have a chance to compete with embattled quarterback Mark Sanchez and veteran free-agent signing David Garrard.
New York will be implementing a new West Coast offense under offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg. Every quarterback will be starting over with the Jets, and between the way Sanchez has struggled and Garrard's age (35), Smith could have a legitimate chance to win the job.
We will have more on this pick coming up.
