OAKLAND –- JaMarcus Russell just ruined what was a very nice opening drive by the Raiders.
The Raiders were moving down the field against San Diego, primarily on the running of Darren McFadden and Michael Bush.
But Russell, who was not sharp on the drive, threw right to San Diego cornerback Quentin Jammer. Russell has problems when he focuses on his intended receiver. Russell was zoning in on rookie receiver Louis Murphy.
The savvy Jammer stepped right in front of the receiver at the Chargers’ 10 and returned it to the Oakland 29.
If the Raiders are going to pull off this upset, they can’t make mistakes in the red zone.
