The biggest question any Baltimore Ravens player hears is about how the team will replace the leadership void left by Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and Anquan Boldin. But Torrey Smith told ESPN's Scott Van Pelt that this isn't a concern for the defending Super Bowl champions.
"People get caught up in the leadership thing as far as who is going to be the rah-rah person," Smith said. "We have leaders everywhere and in every position group. We still have Terrell Suggs, Haloti Ngata, Ray Rice and Joe Flacco. You can't ask for any better leaders than that."
Smith added, "You can go out there and lead by example. We have enough guys on our team that do enough talking and motivational speeches. But we're fine. Leadership doesn't lack just because we lost some great ones: Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and Anquan Boldin. We miss those guys, but at the same time, the older guys are groomed for that."
