FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Patriots announced the release of both defensive lineman Anthony Rashad White and tight end Evan Landi, getting the team down to 75 players in advance of the 4 p.m. ET deadline.

Landi, signed August 13, was originally a rookie free agent of the Buccaneers after going undrafted out of South Florida.

White, also an undrafted free agent, was signed on July 22 after a productive career at Michigan State

With the roster at 75, quarterback Tim Tebow appears safe until the next round of cuts.

Coach Bill Belichick praised Tebow on Tuesday, saying the QB, "has been great to work with. Outstanding."

The Patriots will need to cut down to 53 players by Saturday afternoon.
