FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Receiver Danny Amendola (groin) and running back Shane Vereen (wrist) were not spotted at the Patriots' walkthrough on Tuesday morning.

Amendola had left Sunday's season opener at the end of the second quarter before returning in the third quarter. After the game, when asked about his availability for Thursday’s home opener against the New York Jets, he said, "I just feel good about the win; that’s all that really to matters to me. We’ll figure everything else out later.”

Vereen is expected to miss a few weeks after undergoing surgery on Monday, according to Fox Sports.

Elsewhere, defensive tackle A.J. Francis was back on the practice field after being waived on Saturday. He is likely returning on the team's practice squad, although no official announcement has been made by the team. Practice squad receiver Quentin Sims was not present at practice today.
Field Yates has previous experience interning with the New England Patriots on both their coaching and scouting staffs. A graduate of Wesleyan University (CT), he is a regular contributor to ESPN Boston's Patriots coverage and ESPN Insider.
