EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Giants will present former Giants coach and 2013 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Bill Parcells with his Hall of Fame ring at halftime of Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos. Parcells said before the game that the feeling is similar to the feeling he had this summer when he was inducted in Canton.
"It's the same in a lot of ways because this is where it started for me," Parcells said. "Someone took a chance on me as an assistant coach, and I'll always be grateful to the Giants for that."
Parcells chatted briefly with reporters in the press box before the game. He said he believed current Giants coach Tom Coughlin is "definitely going to get some consideration" for the Hall of Fame when his career is over. But when asked which of his former players he thought had a shot to join him someday in Canton, he picked a Dallas Cowboy.
"Jason Witten, I think, has a real good chance to get in if he stays healthy," Parcells said. "He's certainly one of the very best tight ends I've ever coached."
