ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington Redskins receiver Josh Morgan had something else on his mind Monday aside from the loss to Green Bay. His mother, Lawanda Ware-Brown, works on the same floor where a shooting took place Monday at the Washington Navy Yard.

Morgan, who told reporters he made at least 30 calls to his mom, later said a cousin told him that Ware-Brown was fine. Morgan said his godmother also works in the same building.

One shooter is dead, however police were still searching for additional shooters as of early Monday afternoon.

This made for a nervous day for Morgan, though one he unfortunately knew how to handle.

"This happened on 9/11 when [his mom] was at the Pentagon and it happened to me when I was at Virginia Tech with the shootings down there," he said. "We're kind of all too familiar with it unfortunately. We're praying for the best."
