NEW ORLEANS -- All-Pro New Orleans Saints guard Jahri Evans, who has a hamstring injury, is not in the starting lineup for the first time in his eight-year career. Evans' ironman streak of 114 consecutive regular-season games was tied for the third longest current streak in the NFL. He also started all eight of his career postseason games.
Evans is active and dressed for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals, but he was replaced in the starting lineup by undrafted rookie Tim Lelito. Although Lelito had a solid preseason that earned him a spot on the Saints’ roster, that’s obviously a precarious drop-off for the Saints.
Lelito had some ups and downs in the first quarter. He appeared to give up one sack and some occasional pressure. The Saints did march down the field for a touchdown on their opening drive, though.
