Weather conditions: As of 5 p.m., the tarp is on the field here in Cleveland. Temperatures hovered around 80 degrees this afternoon, with high humidity for this time of the year (dew point of 68 degrees). It is mostly cloudy and there are scattered showers throughout the area. However, rain is not expected to be a significant factor tonight.
Spiller's status: Upon arriving at FirstEnergy Stadium this afternoon, head coach Doug Marrone told the NFL Network that he "thinks [Spiller] will be out there." Spiller is listed as questionable with an ankle injury, but as of 5 p.m., had yet to come onto the field for any pre-game workout. The Bills brought practice squad running back Ronnie Wingo on their trip to Cleveland. However, per a source, Wingo was not added to the 53-man roster by today's 4 p.m. ET deadline, which could mean the Bills are optimistic about Spiller and Fred Jackson's status.
Byrd, McKelvin get early workout: About four hours prior to tonight's game, cornerback Leodis McKelvin (questionable, hamstring) and safety Jairus Byrd (questionable, foot) were both put through a pre-game workout by assistant strength coach Eric Ciano. Both Byrd and McKelvin tested their back-pedal. Afterwards, once McKelvin headed back to the locker room, general manager Doug Whaley stepped aside and spoke with Byrd, Marrone and defensive coordinator Mike Pettine. There's no immediate word on either player's status.
Inactives to come: With four players -- cornerbacks Stephon Gilmore and Ron Brooks, kicker Dustin Hopkins, and receiver Marquise Goodwin already declared out -- the Bills must declare three additional inactives by 6:55 p.m.
In-game chat: Shortly before Bills-Browns kicks off at 8:25 p.m., we'll have an in-game chat where readers can contribute questions and follow along with in-game observations. Look for the link to that later this evening.
Morelli gets the call: Veteran official Pete Morelli, in his eleventh season as a referee, gets the call for today's game.
