A weekly examination of the Texans' ESPN.com Power Ranking:
Preseason: 7 | Last week: 15 | ESPN.com Power Rankings since 2002
The tumble down the Power Rankings continued this week for the Texans. This time they fell to No. 17, and find themselves one spot behind the Browns and one above the Jets. After dropping nine spots following their first loss in Week 3, the Texans have fallen two spots in each of the past two weeks. San Francisco, the team that beat the Texans 34-3 on Sunday, is ranked seventh.
A win over the St. Louis Rams this week won't likely do much for the Texans' ranking, but a loss would drop them quite a bit. The Rams are ranked 25th. But coming up on the Texans' schedule right after that are the No. 3 Chiefs.
Elsewhere in the division, the pollsters feel that not only are the Colts the best team in the AFC South, they're one of the best teams in the NFL. Indianapolis ranks fourth this week.
